PETER KLIPFEL
HISTORY
Began karate 1966 ,under a green belt Shotokan student from Kimberley. Instructors during those years were few and far .Most were found in the major cities. Moved to Natal in 1968 from the Northern Cape. Competed for the Natal junior team on several occasions .
1968 - 1975 Studied JUDO under Keith Hughs and E Le Roux sensei . 1972 - 1974 Started Shotokan karate under sensei Rob Ferrier Durban. 1975 - 1977 South African Navy's Submarine Squadron. General Karate training 1977 1979 Shotokan training with Nigel Jackson Sensei 1977 - 1978 Shito Ryu under Chris Thompson sensei of Shukokai 1979 - 1982 Goju Ryu under Sensei Harry Pieterkosky . 1982 - 1999 Joined the Yamaguchi IKGA under Peter Brandon Shihan 1999: Joined the JKF Gojukai / Seiwa Kai group Since 1999 I have come to meet so many talented instructors from across the world which are members of the JKF Gojukai and Seiwa Kai which has expanded my karate knowledge.
JUDO History 1970 - Northern Natal under 55 kg Judo champion / gold medal 1971 - Northern Natal Championship 3rd place 1971 - Inter Club Championships - 1st place u/65 Kg 1972 - Natal Champ of Champs - bronze medal 1972 - Northern Natal - silver medal 1972 - Transvaal Open champs - bronze medal 1973 - Newcastle Gold medal - received Natal Colors
